Any opportunity to help and be helped is just something we truly cherish at Outsourcing Angel. Our enthusiasm to fulfill our mission of providing food and nourishment to impoverished Filipino communities is so great that not even heavy rains and strong winds could stop us.

On October 21, Outsourcing Angel, together with our partner charity organisation Tribu ni Bro, journeyed to another remote community in Sitio Kinabuan, Tanay in the province of Rizal, where the Kinabuan Tribe resides.

On that rainy Sunday morning, our team traveled from Quezon City to Antipolo, where a rented “monster jeep” took us to the small town of Sta. Ines. On the way, we crossed around four to five rivers and traversed over rough roads. Upon reaching Sta. Ines proper, we disembarked from and started down the path going to the location. We trekked for almost 3 hours, crossing about 8 rivers on the way to the barrio. It was almost dark and heavy rains started falling when we reached Sitio Kinabuan.

The next morning, October 22, our team prepared warm bowls of sopas (hot soup) for breakfast as we were greeted by 200 children and 75 adults from the Kinabuan Tribe. We started the activity with a prayer, followed shortly by a Bible storytelling session. For entertainment, we organised some fun games and taught the children some Christian songs and dances. For lunch, we prepared a hearty meal of pancit (rice noodles), which were happily enjoyed the community.

Our team also distributed used clothing and new pairs of slippers to the children of the Kinabuan Tribe, which they received wholeheartedly. These clothing items can be used going to school, and the new, sturdy footwear can help make traveling across the rivers and rough roads easier for the children.

We’re still so many weeks away from Christmas, but we at Outsourcing Angel are already feeling that overwhelming sense of joy that comes with giving and sharing our blessings. Our outreach programs prove that even in simple ways, you can make a difference to the lives of schoolchildren in unprivileged communities. As we continue with our activities for this year, we are hoping to reach out to more communities to inspire them and help them with their needs.
