As the Christmas season rolled in, each one of us at Outsourcing Angel felt the breeze of love, kindness and generosity sweep through. So for the month of December, our team, together with partner charity organisations Ibahagi Group and the Armed Forces of the Philippines Mechanized Battalion, prepared a series of gift-giving and feeding outreach programs for children living in remote provinces in the Philippines.
On December 2 to 3, our team journeyed for four hours from Manila to Mayantoc in the province of Tarlac for a gift-giving and feeding outreach program for the benefit of the Abeling Tribe. Upon arriving at the Mayantoc Municipal Hall, our group traveled for another two hours before reaching Sitio Payapa, Brgy. Labney where the beneficiaries reside. Fortunately, the weather had been fine that day, but it still took our group a couple of hours before reaching Brgy. Labney due to the rough roads.
Upon reaching the site, we were welcomed by the children of Abeling Tribe who were all excited for the day’s activities. The activity started with the feeding program, where the participants happily shared a hearty meal. And as an early Christmas treat, our group surprised the children of Abeling Tribe with Christmas presents. It was a joy to see their happy faces as we distributed our surprise gifts, which consisted of toys, clothing and educational items.
A total of 230 children took part in the activity and received our early Christmas gifts. This day reminded us of how Christmas is so much more than just giving gifts. Activities such as this are a great way to bring people together, to serve and share blessings, and to give hope. Through feeding programs and gifts, we know that, in our own way, we are providing hope and new opportunities for our less-fortunate brethren.
