Working with recruiting agencies that help employ and deploy virtual assistants for businesses is a growing field. There is a great deal of benefit in hiring offshore talent to work for your company remotely, but sometimes the experience can be difficult when you aren’t working with the right agency.

As a business owner or executive looking for vendors, you want to make sure that you’re working with the best. Quality could literally be make or break for your company, so you don’t want to be lenient about your selection process.

I’d like to share with you six characteristics that a great recruitment agency for virtual assistants will always have. If you find an agency with these qualities, you’ve got yourself a winner!

Great virtual team recruitment agencies…

1. Collect great reviews

When we get word of a service-provider, restaurant, mall or hotel, one of the first things we will do is check the reviews. Agencies shouldn’t be any different. Word of mouth is still one of the most powerful validations today. Make sure to check an agency’s reviews on Google, Facebook or TrustPilot. Don’t just look at the reviews for their face value. Check if they were posted recently and if they were given by real people.

2. Practice what they preach

It’s extremely hard to believe someone’s advice when we don’t see them applying it on themselves. Agencies are in the business of finding the right talent who will fix up your website, help you with marketing, create a beautiful visual brand for you and so on. So if you see an agency with a crappy website, fifty Facebook likes and terrible graphics, that isn’t a good sign.

3. Has been around for a while

Tenureship shows steadiness. Years also show experience. If you’re not willing to risk quality, you’ll want to find an agency that has been around for at least several years. An agency that’s been around doesn’t just have experience. They also have a larger database, more systems, better work flows, and tons of raving clients. All those seem like a great idea to have access to.

4. Exists for a mission

When working with agencies, look into why they’re in business. Are they just around to make money? Or do they exist for a bigger mission? Are they present to help clients grow and succeed? Do they want to help provide job opportunities to virtual assistants? Someone’s “why” will speak volumes about their “what” and “how.”

5. Is filled with happy employees.

You definitely want to work with an agency that is filled with happy employees. If employees are unhappy because they don’t get paid on time or because there’s very little guidance is not a good sign. Unhappy employees will not give the best and they will most likely leave the company and you- if you book their services- really soon. Look for a virtual team recruitment agency with people who want to stay with you and the agency for a very long time.

6. Gives good customer service

Because agencies are in the service industry, customer service matters. Companies with great customer service experiences are those that will provide consistent guidance and support even after the contract has been signed. Find an agency that exists to serve you.

Great Agencies Make for Great Results

In a nutshell, here’s my advice. Look for an agency that is focused on bringing you results. Agencies that are just there to bill you and leave you are in abundant supply today. The agency you want to work with is the one that cares about your business and wants to see you succeed. Find an agency like that, and you’ll be in good hands.
