“My father didn’t tell me how to live; he lived and let me watch him do it.” -Clarence Kelland

Fatherhood may not be the easiest job in the world. In fact, given the quoted saying above, it might just be one of the hardest jobs in the world. To raise a child knowing that he will be looking up to you as an example of the kind of life he will choose for himself and carry on to adulthood one day is a great responsibility.

And yet, that is the essence of being a parent. That is what our own parents have done, and that is what we shall continue to do as parents or when we become parents ourselves one day.

Fathers are naturally looked up to by their children as an example. After all, dads are said to be a son’s first hero and a daughter’s first love. While every other child’s relationship with his or her father remains to be significantly different and unique, fathers generally make up a huge part of our lives.

We just celebrated Father’s Day a few days ago, a day dedicated to dads in all sizes, color, shapes, and quirks all over the world. Most importantly, we paid tribute to our very own fathers on this day. There may also be mothers working double duty in the absence of a father figure in a family and they, too, ought to be celebrated.

To celebrate Father’s Day, Outsourcing Angel hosted a fun contest on Facebook by throwing in a hypothetical question, urging everyone to fill in the blank with their quirkiest answers: “If I was given P1000 (25 AUD) to treat my dad on Father’s Day, I would _____.”

The angels were tested for their quirky responses and storytelling, and then winners were chosen based on the most number of votes given by admin and management team.

The photo entries narrated of each one’s colorful story with their dads. It showed just how much love was shared towards their dads regardless of any distance, differences or similarities. Some also showed a longing towards their Dads and cherished fond memories.

By the end of the contest period, three photo entries were picked as winners, each of them gaining significant Father’s Day Love Points as prizes. The Father’s Day Contest winners are Apple Lasola who garnered the highest vote, earning the 1st prize with 50 Love Points. Followed by Wendy Villar who gained 30 Love Points at 2nd place, and Pat MaruJedi earning the 3rd place spot with 20 Love Points.

What an amazing way to celebrate our fathers on their special day and tell the world how much they mean to us! It is a true testament to how “dads hold our hands for a little while, but hold our hearts forever.”
